#1 Prestigio International Photographic Award 2009

All images submitted must express one of the following concept: Elegance, Performance and/or Inspiration.

• Define  ‘Elegance’
• What is your representation of ‘Performance’
• Capture ‘Inspiration’

Prizes:

• Prestigio Grand Prix - $1000 cash prize.
• The best picture in each category – each winner will be awarded with $300 cash prize and a selected Prestigio product.

Each entry should express one of three concepts: Elegance, Inspiration, or Performance.  These types of concepts should be captured in the following style of genres: journalistic, portrait, scenery or landscape photography.

Author has to submit a digital version of the photo via the website http://art.prestigio.com (Authors’ Entry) or by sending it to the following email address: contests@prestigio.com.  The photos for the online gallery must be presented in one of the following formats: JPG and/or TIF, and with a size of not exceeding 2MB.  The authors must provide the Contest’s organizers with the original pictures upon request. The original pictures must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi and a size of an A5 page (148×210mm).

#2 2009 Photoshare Photo Contest

Photoshare’s Annual Photo Contest is a popular international event mobilizing photographers to share their work for charitable and educational use, in return for a chance to win a prize. By submitting their images, participants contribute to a growing collection of development-oriented photography, helping non-profits communicate health and development issues worldwide. Do you have photos of programs in action and the people you serve? Pictures illustrating the realities of urban and rural life in developing countries? One photo allowed per category (10 maximum): At a minimum, digital images must be approximately 1600×1200 pixels. Photos below the minimum resolution, collages, digitally altered photos, photos without completed entry forms, and photos previously contributed to Photoshare are not eligible for consideration. Original color or black & white prints, slides, negatives, are acceptable. Photos will be judged on the basis of content (relevance to category) and quality (e.g. lighting, composition, focus) by an independent panel of judges for cash and camera prizes.

#3 C4FAP “Elements of Water” Call for Entries

Water is both physical and symbolic. Water can be a solid, liquid or gas. It covers 71% of the earth’s surface. Water fascinates us with the way it moves and transforms. It can be a destructive force and a life giving element. Without it we would not survive, but too much and our lives would be drastically altered. Elements of Water Will showcase how diverse water can truly be.

Exhibition and Awards: With selection for this exhibition, artists and their work will be seen by an international audience of collectors, curators, art consultants and others who appreciate the fine art of photography.

Prizes:

• Juror’s Selection Award: $300
• Director’s Selection Award: $200
• Artists’ ShowCase Online Awards: Two artists will receive a year subscriptions to Artists’ ShowCase Online, a $120 value
• Gallery Visitor’s Choice Award: $100
• All exhibitors are included in the Center’s online gallery

Entries are submitted via the Center’s on-line system. Log in to, Account Login, on the homepage to begin the process. Please follow these requirements when preparing your images for submission:

• Your images are viewed as RGB images using standard Adobe RGB 98 or SRGB profile. NOTE: CMYK files will not upload.
• The largest image dimension (width or height) should be 1280 pixels with the other dimension proportional.
• Save your images with a resolution 72 ppi, any layers flattened, 8 bit JPEG files (16 bit files will not upload.)
• Use JPG compression quality of 8. This compression level will not affect the quality of images viewed on a monitor.
• The image title can not be greater than 40 characters. (Image title is not the image file name)
• Image file names can not include any of the following characters or have more than 25 characters. Please do not include #,$,&, periods or other similar characters as part of the file name.
• There can only be a single period – just prior to the file format extension: filename.jpg

#4 The Picsean World Photo Contest

As a prelude to its global launch, Picsean is currently running a Photo Contest where photographers across the world get an opportunity to win up to $2000 and to showcase their photographs to the world.   The winning photos will be selected by a combination of the number of votes received and evaluation by the Picsean editorial team/jury for compliance with the guidelines.

Prizes:

• One 1st Prize    $1000
• Two 2nd Prizes    $350 each
• Three 3rd Prizes    $100 each

The files that you submit need to meet the following requirements: Format – JPEG only, Dimensions – Minimum of 970px on the longer side. Higher resolution is better. Please send images at the full size as photographed; e.g. 3 megapixel. At least 1MB and not exceeding 5 MB. You will find that many photos of the minimum size (970×528) compress to be much smaller than this. Unfortunately such small images will not have the ability to show the high quality.

#5 Face Off Photo Contest

There is no assignment this year: show us your best.

The entries will be judged based on creative excellence alone and exhibited on December 3rd during our FACE OFF Opening Night Bash.

Images must delieved on cd (RGB, 13”x 19” Vertical or Horizontal, 300 dpi) to Smashbox Studios. Please tape ‘FACE FORM’ securely to the back of your disc. Each photograph is a single entry. You may submit as many as three images.

Send entries in ?at packages only. Address packages to SMASHBOX FACE OFF 13. Non-United States contestants should mark each package “Materials for Contest Entry. No Commercial Value.” No provision will be made by CA for U.S. Customs or airport pickup. International entries should be sent by post or international courier.
