Valentines Day Cards

I must admit that I am not a fan of Valentines Day, I think it is a retail holiday generated to make people spend money. If you love someone you should show them everyday, not just save it up for once a year with cheesy gestures of romance.  However that being said, I did find these adorable , non-cheesy cards on Urban Outfitters that I just had to share! :)

Drunken Tags

Today etsy’s featured seller was a shop called Farouche.  I have been browsing her shop which is full of bold, beautiful, and some hilarious paper products and liked it so much that I decided to post it on the blog to share with all of you!  These drunken tags made me laugh out loud! Wouldn’t they make awesome gift tags for a gag gift? or you could even frame them and them up somewhere near your home bar. See the rest of the shop here.

Typography Poster Roundup #2

Great examples of typographic posters from the web. As you can see, I really dig minimal designs with great use of negative space.

This poster excels at its fantastic use of minimalism in design.  The subtle complimentary color scheme and great use of negative space help balance the composition.   The strong diagonal elements in this composition really make the poster.   I really enjoy the retro feel to the image which creates a mental image of italian vespas for some reason for me =)

Street art from Berlin.  Texture really makes this “quick and dirty” poster pop and stand out.  Both the vertical and horizontal repetition of the letters creates the structure of the “tower”.   Due to the poster being ripped and torn, the placement of the letters could also represent a structure that’s crumbling down.  The placement on the brick wall really helps drive home the “tower” aspect of the poster.

Fun Typography posters

Hello all! I hope you all had a great weekend. Alan and I spent our weekend celebrating Halloween and making a quick day trip down to Tucson.  While in Tucson I picked up ( ok fine…borrowed from my mother) the latest issue of Instyle Magazine and it is making my day. The November issue has a great section called the best of the web and it is keeping me entertained and helping me find great sites. I recommend you all go and pick it up! Also while browsing through these sites I found a link to this great online store called Keep Calm. It is for typography prints and products. Here it is so you can check it out. Keep Calm Gallery

Stunning examples of Graphic Design in the Swiss Industry

Below are some of my favorite images by Swiss modernist graphic designer Hans Neuburg.   This particular style really appeals to me due to the minimal and clean compositions.  When he used color it was subtle yet very in your face at the same time without detracting from the overall design.  One of my design heroes for sure.  Images courtesy of AisleOne’s Flickr Gallery
