Old Town Scottsdale

12 Nov

Hello All! Yesterday I spent the day in Old Town Scottsdale with some of my friends that are visiting from Germany. I never realized how pretty it was until yesterday. I love the colors and seeing all the chili peppers hanging from beams in front of old western looking stores. I also really enjoyed walking through the garden that is in front of the civic center. It is beautiful! It was so nice to walk around a garden full of flowers and water features (I forgot it was November, it was so nice!). The garden also contains multiple sculptures, including one that spells out Love. It was such an enjoyable afternoon. Please go check it out if you get the chance!

Ramen Noodles

10 Nov

Hello All! I am currently sitting in front my laptop eating a bowl of ramen noodles, which since I have no job and am a  student I tend to eat very frequently. This had made me experiment with all kinds of things to spice up ramen.  Today’s bowl I think is so good, that I am going to share the recipe with you! Start with a package of chicken flavor ramen, follow directions on the package. When finished top the bowl off with a nice layer of Italian seasoning, a dash of thyme, and finally a nice smattering of chili powder. Delish!

Phantom of the Opera

9 Nov

Hello all! How was your weekend? Alan and I had a weekend packed full of adventure. We spend Saturday in Bisbee, AZ, which is a historic mining town, and on Sunday I went to see The Phantom of the Opera with my mom, sisters, and two of my girlfriends and their moms. Let me just say, I absolutely love the Phantom of the Opera! This was my third time seeing it and was as amazing as always.  I love the music and the special effects are awesome! Yes, the movie version was spectacular as well, but nothing beats seeing it live on the stage. At the end of the show I am always surprised to see how small the actual cast is! Bravo on a job well done! If any of you are in the Phoenix area the show is playing at ASU’s Gammage until Nov 22. Please take the oppurtunity to see it!
